As I am about to leave Costa Rica I figured there are a lot of people who are curious about my time here but don’t know how or what to ask about! So this blog post is to solve that problem! Here are 15 questions you can ask me about my time in Costa Rica!
Before the questions here is a basic rundown of my time! We spent a month in Jaco at a ministry base called Ocean’s Edge! Jaco is a beach town known for it’s surfing and nightlife! We lived a 15 minute walk away from the beach and it was wonderful! For ministry here we did all sorts of things like painting light posts, working on finances for the base, helping with the homeless population of Jaco, working with the local church to decorate for Christmas, and so much more!
Then all of the teams split up to different bases throughout the country! There are 7 teams of 5 people each (5 girl teams and 2 boys) and I am on team Lydia (see Lydia in the bible). Lydia went to a Christian camp called La Montana outside of San Ramon. We spent the 2 weeks working with campers (mostly highschool age), cleaning cabins, and painting! It was also amazing to work with some of the volunteers at the camp and get to know them.
After the 2 weeks apart the whole squad came together and spent 2 and half weeks in Puerto Viejo, a beach town in the Caribbean. We stayed about a 30 minute walk from the black sand beach and a 40 minute drive away from the Panama border! Here we stayed at a Youth With A Mission (aka YWAM, another program that is a worldwide Christian discipleship program similar to World Race and Adventures in Missions) base and did all sorts of random things. From things on base like cleaning and fixing a bus to or painting poles for a new fence or shoveling dirt, to going out into the city to evangelize, to going to a village nearby to hand mixing and pouring concrete for a new house, we did it all!
So here are the questions!
Did you have any interesting car rides?
Have you seen any animals?
You got rebaptized?
Is Jesus a good dancer?
Did you have any yummy fruit?
Does God need you?
Have you read any books?
What is a “There She Goes”?
What did Thanksgiving look like?
What did Christmas look like?
What did your first time evangelizing look like?
Does God wear glasses?
What have you read in the Bible?
What is feedback?
Have you had any pancake malfunctions?
To ask me the questions you can email me at @[email protected] or text me 816-645-7543 or WhatsApp me or dm me on Facebook or Instagram! Hi, Kenz! You are now safely in Guatemala! I know you have many fond memories of Costa Rica and more to come in the next 5 months of Guatemala and whatever country follows. We love you, miss you, and continue to be so proud of the work you are accomplishing on behalf of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. May God continue to bless you and your team.
